Our Mission
Public policy in America is at its most powerful — and most personal — when it's shaped at the state and local level. That's where classrooms, courtrooms, main streets, and neighborhoods actually live.
State Focus was founded to bring rigorous, well-researched policy to the states that need it most. We start in the Southeast, where the gap between promise and policy is widest, and we build outward.
We believe in preparing public servants as carefully as we prepare the policy itself — because a good idea without a good champion never becomes law.
